Fag Packets Change!
Ministers want to see if changing the appearance of cigarette packets could deter children from taking up smoking.

Yep, sticking an idiot on the front of every pack would do it. :)
ReplyDeleteThere are stickers available to go over the current health warnings (available online, but can't remember where from), saying things like "smoking is cool" and "smokers have big willes", all in the same design and font as the originals. I had a few chuckles with those, back in the days when I used to do it. People will always get around these things.

ReplyDeleteWhat’s to stop cigarette manufacturers’ from putting images like Lansley on their packets anyhow…perhaps with a slogan like…err…here’s a real fag!
Why not hold a competition for the best top-ten slogans – eh? Then we can send them on to the manufactures'.
Worth a try...even if they get away with it only once.
I was always tempted by the labels which said "Smoking Makes You Important".

Yes, that was one of them. Well remembered. The great thing was that they were completely indistinguishable from the real warnings apart from the wording. Many times I sat in a pub and eventually a companion would peer at the pack, twist their neck to read it, and then burst out laughing. The next question was usually "where can I get some?"
