European Conservatives and Reformists

"CONSCIOUS OF THE URGENT NEED TO REFORM THE EU ON THE BASIS OF EUROREALISM, OPENNESS, ACCOUNTABILITY AND DEMOCRACY, IN A WAY THAT RESPECTS THE SOVEREIGNTY OF OUR NATIONS AND CONCENTRATES ON ECONOMIC RECOVERY, GROWTH AND COMPETITIVENESS, THE EUROPEAN CONSERVATIVES AND REFORMISTS GROUP SHARES THE FOLLOWING PRINCIPLES:

1. Free enterprise, free and fair trade and competition, minimal regulation, lower taxation, and small government as the ultimate catalysts for individual freedom and personal and national prosperity.

What does Cameron propose to do about this?

2. Freedom of the individual, more personal responsibility and greater democratic accountability.

What about the Stockholm Project, the EU surveillance system which has been widely documented by Bunyan! Does he intend dismantling all Labour’s interconnecting databases like Spine? What is he going to do about our culture of political correctness and health and safety? What about positive discrimination against white, heterosexual males?

3. Sustainable, clean energy supply with an emphasis on energy security.

Considering most of our power stations have now been sold off to foreign countries, that kind of cancels out this promise somewhat! What does he intend to do, build nuclear, who will own them, France?

4. The importance of the family as the bedrock of society.

Does that mean the married mans allowance back? Is he going to ensure that couples are better off married than pretending to be separated so they are forced to cheat the system to survive?

5. The sovereign integrity of the nation state, opposition to EU federalism and a renewed respect for true subsidiarity.

That means a DEFINITE VOTE ON THE LISBON TREATY THEN, whether ratified or not? It should mean a vote on whether we actually stay in the EU or not!

6. The overriding value of the transatlantic security relationship in a revitalised NATO, and support for young democracies across Europe.

I don’t know enough about NATO to comment on this one!

7. Effectively controlled immigration and an end to abuse of asylum procedures.

Yeah right. So that in effect means, get rid of the European Court of Human Rights, right to overrule us? What does he intend to do about Calais, illegal immigrants already in the country and how will he change asylum procedures so their right to appeal is limited to their country of origin after it has been initially denied. This is costing the taxpayer over £70 million a year! What does he intend to do with foreign criminals? How does he intend to control immigration which has beyond doubt got out of control!

8. Efficient and modern public services and sensitivity to the needs of both rural and urban communities.

I think we need much more detail here.

9. An end to waste and excessive bureaucracy and a commitment to greater transparency and probity in the EU institutions and use of EU funds.

I am sure the rest of the “left of centre” parties are going to agree with you, NOT!

10. Respect and equitable treatment for all EU countries, new and old, large and small."

That doesn’t mean a thing, clarify!
