Reporting Anarchy? Stupid Fucks!

I just saw a tweet by the Captain. I had seen this article on my feed this morning but most stupid fucking things our government and police get up to don't surprise me much anymore. I'm quite prepared to go to prison for trying to bring our Government and the EU down. I may not do it by shooting or bombing them but I will blog, post, demonstrate and tweet to let people know what they're up to!

All I want is my country back from the greedy, autocratic European Union Dictatorship and out of the hands of our treacherous Government,  and if that is ANARCHY, then I'm guilty.

You'll have to report me too!

"I doubt many people have heard of Project Griffin. It is a joint initiative between the City of London Police and the Metropolitan Police, set up in 2004 and based at the City Police’s HQ, which has spread its network to police forces around the country and seeks to “advise and familiarise managers, security officers and employees of large public and private sector organisations across the capital on security, counter-terrorism and crime prevention issues”.

Every week, Chief Inspector Nick Smith and his team at the ‘Westminster Counter Terrorism Focus Desk’, one of the Project Griffin projects, send out a briefing to businesses and this week’s edition includes the extraordinary advice opposite. Leaving aside the rather limited definition of ‘anarchism’, the suggestion that “any information relating to anarchists should be reported to your local Police” is another example of the attempted criminalisation of ideas.

For the time being, holding anarchist sympathies is not a crime – although presumably any gossip, however dubious and ill-informed, will be passed on by borough-level SO15 Counter Terrorism Liaison Officers to the feverish data collectors at the National Extremism Tactical Co-ordination Unit. Are the Metropolitan Police simply starting to run low on ‘Islamists’ to keep tabs or are we seeing a shift towards the creation of a new amorphous, imaginary bogeyman?" SOURCE

  1. Amazing, so unless you're a compliant and well-behaved model citizen of the state you're a a suspect and potential terrorist. Well they can stutj.

  2. I guess I'm doubly guilty. I'm a right wing anarchist and capable of anything now.

  3. That's the problem. If you're to the right of Edward Heath now then you're going to end up on a list somewhere.

I had to pass a whole stack of 'checks' to get into my local gun club. I passed at the time. But any joining of the dots between that and my political views and my license is going to be toast now.

You just can't be too careful, they will say loudly. Right wing bloke, bound to be a potential rampage risk.

So report me now, the theory goes, or the busload of nuns will be next. Or something.

  5. ASE, It's just getting silly, they should legalise owning guns and have done with it. At least we would have the ability to defend ourselves. Here in Spain, if you kill someone who has broken into your house, it's not a crime but an acceptable form of self defence. I have a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, a taser and pepper spray in the house as I am on my own most of the time and I will use them. East Europeans have a habit of killing and robbing West Europeans here and I am not leaving myself vulnerable.

Capt! I guess they realised how utterly stupid it was :) Funny how it takes us bloggers and tweeters to point out the error of their ways!
