"Around 50 EDL people accompanied the Rabbi across London’s parkland towards Speaker’s Corner. It must be remembered that Speaker’s Corner has become a place where there is a predominant Islamic presence. When they approached Speaker’s Corner, the police stopped the Rabbi and EDL supporters short of Speaker’s Corner, thereby preventing him from speaking there. It will seem to many that, based on this decision, Speakers Corner now belongs to the Ummah, and radical Muslims will undoubtedly see this as a victory against Britain’s democratic traditions"

It seems as if Speakers Corner is predominantly occupied by Muslims now spouting their jihad shit, nobody else is allowed Free Speech.
"For the sixth year in a row, the U.N. General Assembly will vote in December on a resolution presented by the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) that calls on governments to act against “religious defamation.”
Although the OIC resolutions profess to cover all religions, only Islam and Muslims are cited by name.
I'm so sick of this shit.
"In an article in Newsweek in November 1994, George F Will wrote that: "Multiculturalism is a campaign to lower America's moral status by defining the American experience is terms of myriad repressions and their victims. By rewriting history, and by using name-calling ('Racist! Sexist! Homophobe!') to inhibit debate, multiculturalists cultivate grievances, self-pity and claims to entitlements arising from victimisation". Source
I'm tired of Muslims thinking they're special cases, but what's far worse is that this political establishment seems to kiss the Muslim arse at every opportunity at the expense of everyone else. We're the ones letting our rights evaporate by continuing to vote for an endless stream of knob-heads and thus co-operating in our own humiliation. This incident isn't the Muslims' fault and they can't be blamed for exercising their right to free speech. The Muslims didn't turn the Jewish and English speakers away. It's the fault of the police for what appears to be blatant political and/or religious discrimination. Time for the Rabbi to report a so-called "hate-crime" methinks, and use the State's own weapons?

ReplyDeleteYou and me both!
Sue,
ReplyDeleteIn all fairness it may have been the presence of the EDL that the police 'objected' to - having said that, on what grounds?
Since when did the police have the power to prevent free speech? Question: what other country has a 'Speakers Corner' where one can speak at will? If I wished to start talking on the lines of 'F**k men, I prefer women', what is to stop me?
I can but echo Richard's comment that Muslims appear to think they are a 'religion apart'.
I want my 'bloody' rebellion!
Just said over at Witterings - this is an amazingly bad precedent.
ReplyDeleteIt will not end well.
ReplyDeleteIsn't “religious defamation.”
ReplyDeletea hate crime yet? If not, why not and wil that place now be called 'Islamic Speakers Corner'?
