Taxpayers facing new Olympic bill

"THE firm building the £1billion Olympic Village for London’s 2012 Games is in negotiations to keep its contract – despite not being able to raise cash to fund the project.Australian developer Lend Lease has been hit by the credit crunch. It now means the Athletes’ Village, originally planned as a public-private partnership, is being funded entirely by the taxpayer. The Tories believe there is a continued risk to the public purse unless the contract is put out to tender again" - of course the Tories are correct, why should the taxpayer fund this, can the taxpayer fund this?

"Gordon Brown will hear from African leaders about the impact of the economic crisis on their countries. Britain also pledged £200 million to a new fund to help the poorest people in the world through the turmoil ahead. The money was awarded to the Rapid Social Response Fund which is being managed by the World Bank".  - Firstly, doesn't the Prime Mentalist have stuff he should be seeing to at home? Secondly,  as much as it pains me to say it, we need to stop pouring money into this bottomless pit called "Africa". We and other countries have been doing it since as far back as I can remember and it's never solved anything. It's a waste of money and doesn't end up where it should!

"Mr Vaz wrote to a High Court judge trying to halt proceedings against a firm which had lavished hospitality on him and his family" -  This is abusing his position and he should be sacked. Of course it won't happen because he's a Labour MP and one of our few minority politicians and thus "untouchable" like that murdering scunt Lord Ahmed. Why have politicians and the elite wealthy suddenly become above the law when we are being subjugated more each day?

"Mayor Boris Johnson has given at least £30,000 of taxpayers' money to an organisation co-controlled by an Islamist "extremist", the Standard can reveal. -After announcing that he wants an amnesty for all illegal immigrants, it also now appears he is funding muslim extremist groups with taxpayers money! Azad Ali praises a spiritual leader of al Qaeda on his blog, denies the Mumbai attacks were "terrorism" and quotes, apparently approvingly, a statement advocating the killing of British troops in Iraq. He also criticises those Muslims who "tell people that Islam is a religion of peace". - The Tories need to control Boris, he's losing his marbles!

An anti-terror campaign showing members of the public how to spot possible plotters is launched by the UK's biggest police force. The Metropolitan police is running a press and radio campaign urging Londoners to report suspicious activity to the Anti-Terrorist Hotline on 0800 789 321. Its message is "Don't rely on others. If you suspect it, report it". - This makes me uneasy... it's the police that should be out and about doing this. Granted, if you see a bag left somewhere, report it but the police are asking us to spy on each other. This is too sinister for me!

  1. Perhaps we should all ring the number to report that "our" politicians all appear to be behaving like cretinous fuckwits rather than public servants?

Sir! Sir! I checked out all of the members of both houses of parliament and they all seemed to have been replaced by aliens from the planet Numbnut! It's an invasion! An invasion! Ring the church bells! Call out the Guard!

p.s., this country is less and less suitable for me every day - I look dreadful in brown shirts, even with a cap and lots of braid.

  2. Life in Spain is a whole lot different, that's why I left the UK. I'm not good with authority :)
