There may be trouble ahead.....

I caught this article in "The Spectator" just now. They themselves refer to "Sophy Ridges Blog" (News of the World). It's as much as I actually suspected, but not being particularly sure of all the figures I have collected, I wasn't quite sure. Anyhow, read both the pieces yourself, they're both pretty short, but the key points are :

THE GOVERNMENT secretly believes unemployment is set to hit 3.5 million - its highest EVER level. (Added to the figure of people on other out of work benefit it will reach a staggering 6 MILLION).

The previous unemployment peak was 3.2 million in 1984.

The collapse of the jobs market will crush Gordon Brown's claim that the UK economy is well placed to tackle the recession.

RECORD NUMBERS OF JOBS ARE GOING TO FOREIGN WORKERS!

New figures show record numbers of foreign workers are filling UK jobs, with the number of Eastern European workers ballooning by 3,500 PERCENT since 1999.

The figures clearly show the number of non-UK workers is going up, and the number of non-EU workers is also going up.

The Government has not got effective control over work permits. They have issued a very high levels of work permits in the past, and they are still giving out a high level.

The latest figures from the Office of National Statistics show there are 25.9 million UK nationals employed in the UK, compared to 25.5 million in 1999.

There are 2.27 million foreign workers, up from one million in 1999.

The biggest increase has come from the EU.

In 1999 there were just 423,000 EU nationals working in the UK, but the number has now risen to more than a million.

Eastern European workers numbers have shot up to 504,000, from just 14,000 in 1999.

The struggling manufacturing industry has been hit by a huge wave of foreign workers.

The number of UK workers in the manufacturing industry is DOWN 32 PERCENT since 1999.

The number of foreign workers is UP 107 PERCENT, and the number of EU workers UP a whopping 269 PERCENT over the same period.

INDUSTRY leaders warn manufacturing must be put back at the heart of the economy

ROCKETING repossessions will throw 145,000 families out of their homes this year

The Government are expecting riots this summer!
