Another ominous EU site to keep an eye on!

Another "think tank" (EU Quango). This one has quite alot of literature to download and read. We MUST keep any eye on these sites. Especially as WE ARE FUNDING THIS ONE TOO!

MISSION

The Mission of the EUISS is to find a common security culture for the EU, to help develop and project the CFSP, and to enrich Europe’s strategic debate.

History
The EUISS was established by the Council Joint Action of 20 July 2001 (since revised by Council Joint Action of 21 December 2006) as a replacement to the Western European Union Institute for Security Studies (established in July 1990). It was inaugurated on 1 January 2002.

Oversight and Funding
The Institute is funded by EU member countries, according to a GNP-based cost-sharing formula.
It is governed by 2 administrative bodies:
The Political and Security Committee – exercises political supervision.
The Board – lays down budgetary and administrative rules and approves the work programme of the EUISS (chaired by the High Representative).

  1. We have been watching this site for some time.

I did a write up about their ‘What Ambitions for European Defence in 2020?’report in Sept 09.

As I said then, Extreme reform and change that is undertaken without the explicit consent of the people, can only be maintained through force and repression.

They are well worth keeping an eye on.

  3. Ian, we really need to get out of this club. The whole thing is starting to feel distinctly evil.

Michael, both Ian and I have been spied on by Brussels. Sod them.
